Free Life Jacket Station Unveiled at Lake Simmons to Promote Water Safety
On World Drowning Prevention Day, a new life jacket loan station was unveiled at Lake Simmons in Greenwich, thanks to the partnership between local teenager Sydney Cohn, and the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich. The station, stocked with Coast Guard-approved life jackets for children and adults, aims to prevent drownings by providing free access to this critical safety equipment.
The project is a personal one for Sydney Cohn, who honors her the life of her brother Zachary Archer Cohn. Sydney expressed her hopes to expand these life jacket stations along the coasts of Greenwich and Stamford to further safeguard the community.
News 12 Connecticut attended the unveiling of the life jacket loan station.
