Lavallette Students Learn Water Safety Skills Before Summer

As families prepare for a summer spent at pools, beaches, and lakes, Lavallette Elementary School students recently participated in a four-day water safety education program presented by The ZAC Foundation in partnership with the New Jersey Swim Safety Alliance (NJSSA), covered by Ocean Star News.

The curriculum is designed to equip children with essential water safety knowledge before swimming season begins. Creative activities such as songs, stories, games, worksheets, and hands-on exercises help students retain information longer and stay engaged. When safety lessons are fun and interactive, children are more likely to remember and apply them when they are around water.

Schools or after-school programs interested in introducing a water safety program can learn more at thezacfoundation.org/water-safety-in-schools and can reach out to swim@thezacfoundation.com for inquiries.

With drowning remaining one of the leading causes of accidental death among children, early education plays a critical role in prevention. By bringing water safety lessons directly into schools, The ZAC Foundation helps ensure that more children have access to lifesaving knowledge that can protect them and their families all summer long.
