Megan Ferraro Shares Summer Water Safety Tips on News 12 Long Island

Helping Families Stay Safe This Summer

As families head to pools and beaches across Long Island this summer, Megan Ferraro, Executive Director of The ZAC Foundation, joined News 12 Long Island to share practical water safety tips that can help prevent drowning.

Layers of Protection Save Lives

Ferraro reminded parents that children who are not confident swimmers should always remain within arm’s reach while in or around the water. She also encouraged families to enroll children in swim lessons, wear properly fitted life jackets, choose brightly colored swimsuits for better visibility, and learn CPR.

“We know if CPR is administered at the time of a drowning, the chance of survival increases exponentially,” Ferraro said.
